With close to five decades of experience in fine homebuilding, renovation and timber work, Yates Construction has been serving Southern Vancouver Island since 1989 and building professionally since 1980.
From preplanning and site preparation to finishing, we work closely with clients to build carefully considered structures. Our passion is for the construction of durable, efficient, beautiful homes that perform well throughout their entire life-span. TIMBER FRAMING & LOG BUILDING
Big Wood, Small Details
Developed as a response to over industrialized post-war building practices, the Timber-Frame and Log Building Revival was rediscovered in the 1970s by those who longed for a simpler, more natural home. These practices incapsulate the culture and history of building, from Teepees to European cathedrals. For 43 years I have been in reverence of these traditional methods, and they have been a focal point of my learning. Having taken courses all over North America in Timber, Cobb and Strawbale construction, we seek to pay homage to this lineage by adapting these ancient practices for the modern home.
